The following poem was written by me over 15 years ago when romantic poetry was all the poetry I ever wrote. If it seems simple, childish even…..well let’s just say that 15 years ago I was but a child.

Let me call you sweetheart,
I love you so much, you see;
Will you be my sweetheart?
You mean so much to me.

Let me stay by your side,
I will never go away;
I will be yours to cherish,
From now till the end of our days.

I’ll be with you in sorrow,
If you let me share your pain;
Even if your world turns upside down,
My love will never wane.

In happy times I’ll be there,
Sharing a laugh with you;
Sweetheart, love, my best friend,
I’m so in love with you

All I ask is devotion,
A measure of loving care;
As much as I give to you,
With each passing year.

A loving smile at break fast,
A warm embrace at noon;
A butterfly kiss at eventide,
Good loving at sundown.
